Borrowing books while the International Library, Odenplan, is closed

02/09/2019How to borrow books from the International Library holdings, after the Annexet building closure and before the Kungsholmen Library opening.

As from Monday September 2  The International Library will permanently cease all public library activities in the Annexet building on Odengatan 59. The library will re-open in new facilities, at the Kungsholmen Library, in the beginning of 2020.

Some of the International Library holdings have been relocated to the Asplundhuset building, Sveavägen 73,  next to the Annexet building. These include books in Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Persian, Polish, Russian and Spanish - approximately 150-200 items in each language.

The International Library's entire book collection will be available to browse online. To reserve an item please visit the Asplundhuset building/Stadsbiblioteket or call Customer Service on 08-508 30 900. To reserve any item, belonging to the International Library collection, and to collect it at Asplundhuset  will be free of charge provided  the reservation is made with "hämtställe"/collection point Stadsbiblioteket.

PLEASE NOTE: If you prefer collecting your reserved item in a different library in Stockholm, i e not the Stadsbiblioteket/Asplundhuset, normal reservation charges will apply - 10 SEK for adults. Children's books are free of charge.
